Survival Tips

Survival Tips consists of the research, I am doing on what to have on hand for anything that might happen natural disaster, and people unrest. For instance canned water has a shelf life of 30 years. I figure you can't beat that one and it is a lot easier to get into and out of the house. Water is a necessity, you can only live 3 days without water, food is a different matter. Maybe this is not what you want to do, but at least think about it. You can also get water in a pouch. that you can squish into various places in a backpack or ? There was a bad earthquake in CA a while back, with people stuck on overpasses for 3 days, without water or food. Imagine that with kids in the car, so at least get the water.

I think for yogis, yes there are mantras and other things that a person can do, however, I also think you need to be prepared in case you can't get your mind in the right place for other methods to work. With what Yogi Bhajan said of the future, that we are in right now, some of it, does not mean that we won't need to be practical and face the reality of what is right in front of us. I think there is going to be some sliding back and forth of realties and we will slid with it.

We are working on putting backpacks together to go into the cars and just be hidden there, until needed, something that can be forgotten. It is difficult to figure a lot of this out. We keep thinking of things and re-thinking, talking it out. If you don't think about it and you don't write it down, you won't remember to take it with you or even buy it. Thinking:
  • 1 backpack for his car,

  • 1 backpack for mine car, 2

  • For me, print the mantras from the Emergency section
  • and tack them on the wall,

  • list of valuables or papers that should go with us from the Lock box or safe, photos you would hate to lose. When you are in a hurry or upset you will never think of this stuff.

  • Medication of any kind

  • Pets and kids, they have to have their crunchies and water, too and if you cannot get them into a carrier or find them, then you have to be prepared to leave them. (and 1/2 your heart behind with them)

I went to Major Surplus I put the prices on each item, just to give you an idea. (I am sure the prices will change - 11-2011) Just found this which gives me some ideas Buy Emergency Foods I am not saying go here and buy this - just this is what I have found right now and I am still looking at stuff.
