Karta Singh is the Founding Director of the Amrit Nam Sarovar Yoga School (ANS). The headquarters and heart of the Amrit Nam Sarovar school at Domaine Le Martinet are situated in the French alps south of Grenoble. The local self-sustaining community built around the school's founder and director Karta Singh Khalsa, runs an organic farm and applies the yogic way of life and the Aquarian teachings to everyday life.
He was born in Morocco in 1950. At the age of ten he had to abandon his homeland. The family had been living in North Africa for three generations when - due to political unrest - they decided to go back to France in the early 1960s.This sudden disruption instilled in Karta a deep longing to belong. He then embarked on a quest that would make him understand what it means to have a home and a tradition.
In his twenties Karta was determined to access a body of knowledge that would re-connect him with the roots he had lost. He studied mathematics and physics, taught himself oriental philosophy and psychoanalysis: in search for the true teaching that would give life meaning, purpose and direction.
It was in the mid-seventies when Yoga Bhajan first crossed Karta's path. Immediately, he recognized him as the teacher he had been looking for: not a mere man of intellect and applied philosophy but a true spiritual master.
During a tantric course Karta came as close to the man he considered his teacher as he could possibly come. In a moment of Kundalini rising Yogi Bhajan literally entered his body. This was the beginning of an alchemistic relationship that would change his life forever.Karta followed Yogi Bhajan in his vision to build a global community with spirit being the founding principle and common bond between all mankind. This would only work if people changed their level of consciousness. Therefore, Karta made it his mission to help people transform and realize their full human potential. As a pioneer, he created programs in France, Belgium, England, Russia, Austria, and Switzerland. With the teacher training Karta reached out to as many people as possible.
When Yogi Bhajan died in October 2004, he left an impressive legacy. Teachers would spread the teachings in all four corners of the world. For Karta it was a time to re-connect with the initial vision: How far are we on the road towards an inclusive and enlightened society? How can we live in dharma (righteous living) in the west today? How can we facilitate a strong sense of living for each other? How can spirituality truly guide us in our lives?
On his land in the French Alps he started building a space that could serve as a foundation for living the teachings. He considers Le Martinet as a sign post that welcomes people looking for a spiritual home. People living for each other beyond borders, beliefs and religions. It is a journey to becoming fully human.

Kirantana Khalsa “Kir” (aka George Craig McMillian - aka Hari Shabad Singh Khalsa) has practiced and taught Kundalini-Laya Yoga for over 4 decades. Early on he shied away from teaching in yoga “studios” and instead chose to stretch the parameters of his craft in public service.
He was one of the early pioneers and teachers of “Yoga in Prison” for the California prison system, both juvenile and adult prisons. Latter he became director of 3HO’s first government granted drug re-hab program in New Mexico, using yoga and dietary techniques to rehab hard-core addicts. It became the most successful program in the country, based upon 2 year follow up statistics.
After Kir’s formative training years he struck out on his own into private re-hab work in the Hollywood entertainment industry, and privately trained many colorful movie personalities.
Always pushing the parameters of what could be done with yoga, he then served as a private contractor in Bosnia and Serbia with various UN organizations in the last years of the Bosnian war, working with severely traumatized war victims. It was here that he took his many years of experience and developed his unique style of Kundalini –Laya Yoga with a focus on PTSD.
Hari Shabad S. Khalsa went to Bosnia and Kirantana came back.
After the war years Kir became a solitary Kalachakra monk, in his hermitage in Mississippi practicing the Tantra for World Peace for 8 years, while completing his award winning ‘opus’…double CD…”Salvation”…the New rock and roll Kalachakra Empowerment Ritual for World Peace.

In 1971 I said good bye to my first spiritual teacher who was a Native American psychedelic medicine man. He had taught me about consciousness and the truth which would become the foundation for my spiritual life. His last words to me were to find someone who could teach me Kundalini Yoga.
A year later I found Kundalini Yoga, 3HO and, Yogi Bhajan. Being a student of Yogi Bhajan was like living in a spiritual pressure cooker 24/7 /365! He had a single objective as your spiritual teacher: to pressurize your life to the point he could change coal to a diamond.
Kundalini Yoga and its amazing power to transform was the main stay of my life then and now. I am eternally grateful for those hard sometimes bitter times and long powerful sadhnas, for that is the sweetness in my life today.
We opened our Ashram in Berlin. It is the largest Kundalini Yoga Ashram in the world at 8000 sq. ft. We have more than thirty residences including children. Our first yoga room was opened last weekend as was our kindergarten! Our Ashram is unique because we practice not only KY but also Gatka, Taiko drumming, and classical Indian dance & music as our sadhana. And if you wish to visit us for a night or two you can stay at our Yogi Hotel!!!
"I still am a hippie, a yogi, a warrior, a shaman, a dancer and a grandfather and somehow it all fits."
For the last ten years he has studied with his third major teacher, Akali Nihang Nidhar Singh. He is the last of the Nihang warriors of India. He teaches a once secret martial art know as Shastar Vidiya. Very heavy stuff again and another teacher who demands a lot of blood, sweat and tears -literally!!!!
The tradition of the Kshatriya (Saint-Warrior) dates back 10.000 years. Many of the great personalities of the Vedic tradition were Kshatriyas: Gautama Buddha, Krishna Avatar, Ram Chandar, Gobinde Singh.
The art of the Kshatriya is the art of balancing and harmonizing polarities, such as the power of the warrior with the humility of the saint. To create the graceful power of the Kshatriya we practice the martial art Gatka as our earthly power, and combine it with Kundalini Yoga - our spiritual power. The synergy of the two forms the Adi Shakti (great power) which gives the Kshatriyas their god like qualities.
Nanak Dev Singh has lived as a Kshatriya for 25 years. In 1982 he was initiated into the clan through his first teacher Bhai Daleep Singh in Ponta Sahib, India. He is currently the student of Akali Nihang Nidhar Singh of Wolver Hampton, UK. It was the wish of his first teacher that Nanak brings to the west the tradition of the Noble Saint Warrior - the Kshatriya.

Narayan Singh Khalsa aka Michael J. Lincoln earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Oregon, including several years teaching, research assisting and working at mental hospitals, a counseling center, a mental health clinic, and the institution for the retarded.
He then started out as the clinical director of one of the first behavior modification treatment programs for emotionally disturbed children. He pioneered the successful healing of deep emotional wounds in both children and their families through the integration of behavioral and psychoanalytic approaches.
He went on to serve in this role in several other innovative treatment programs for children and adolescents over a thirty year span.
Meanwhile, along the way, he opened and ran a night club for teenagers during the late sixties. He also co-ran a series of large inter-racial and inter-generational encounter groups for high school teachers, administrators and students. In addition, he developed a heart-centered face-reading process based upon modern psychological assessment approaches.
He also was a consultant for programs for alcoholics, drug dependents, juvenile and adult corrections, and the department of children's services. In addition, he functioned as a forensic psychologist for these populations. Along with all this clinical work, he served as a professor of psychology at the University of Portland ( Oregon ) for several years, where he trained people in professional clinical psychology, conducted research, and taught at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
In addition, he trained child care practitioners in professional child/youth work in an accreditation program of his own design for some twenty years.
As all of this was happening, there began to develop a growing spiritual awareness and commitment. This led to his integrating the sacred into his contributions, and he evolved into a Psycho-Sacred Teacher and Healer, which he has been for over 20 years now.

Prabhu Nam Kaur began taking piano lessons when she was 5 years old until she was 20. She sang in the school choir and with her sisters at home, for fun
The first shabad she ever learned was Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur, in a class taught by Amarjeet Kaur in Los Angeles in 1974. She studied later briefly with Jasbir Kaur. Both of these teachers had come to teach at the request of the Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan.
In 1977, she went to Amritsar and met Bhai Hari Singh, who played at the Golden Temple for 54 years before retiring. She has continued studying with him whenever the opportunity has arisen, both in India and in the US when he has travelled here.
She is one of the leading Ragis (musicians) in the Sikh community of the West, and is a well-know teacher of the Gurmukhi language, and its musical form, Gurbani.
She lives in San Leandro, California, USA, and is married to Sat Santokh Singh (Sat Santokh) , who teaches Self-Worth workshops throughout Europe and the US. She is the mother of Snatam Kaur, who travels the world sharing her music. She teaches yoga and kirtan.
Since 1970 the direction of my life has been an inner and outer exploration of aligning with a state of vitality and excellence. In 1971 I began to study with Yogi Yogi Bhajan,a Master of Kundalini Yoga and the Mahan Tantric.
The true blessing of my life was the gift of learning and experiencing a very close relationship with Yogi Bhajan for over 30 years. He guided my life with his wisdom, his constant challenges to my inner self to become an inspiration for all those around me. He never let me settle for less than excellence in my life, my relationships and my role as a teacher.
Since meeting Yogi Bhajan, I have traveled internationally and taught thousands of people and trained many hundreds of Kundalini Yoga teachers. In 2006 the Kundalini Research Institute recognized me as a Senior Trainer of Kundalini Yoga, one of a very small group of teachers world wide to receive this honor.
In 1990, in search of a deeper understanding of body alignment and wellness, I began to teach the Pilates Method. I was certified as a Pilates Trainer by the Pilates Method Alliance and have used this to work with hundreds of clients to bring about stronger bodies and an uplifted spirit.
As a Kundalini Yoga teacher I have traveled extensively to share my passion and joy for alignment, breath and the joy of leading with the heart and compassion in our consciousness and our daily lives.
In 2002, still searching for ways to unfold the potential of each individual, I trained as a Personal and Professional Coach with the Newfield Network Ontological Coaching. Another dimension of understanding and excitement arose within my being. I gained the tools to create a transformative experiences.

I've loved Bhangra most of my life and though I was born in America, I went to middle and high school in India where I was introduced to Bhangra.
Bhangra is a high energy folk dance that comes from northern India. Traditionally it's danced and performed during the harvest season in Spring around the time of Baisakhi. Many of the dance steps come from village life experience and the farmer's work in the fields. The main beat of Bhangra is set by a drum called the Dhol. Western music has in the past decade embraced and infused Bhangra beats and rhythms into pop music. Bhangra clubs are more popular than ever as people are finding the pure joy of dancing Bhangra to the Bhangra beat!
The love affair began and I've been dancing Bhangra ever since. Over the last 12 years I've traveled the world teaching performing and spreading my love of Bhangra to all I meet. I've worked with Izzat da Punjab, a Bhangra dance troupe, since 1998 that has been performing throughout the United States. The troop consists of women and men from all over the world who now live and work in New Mexico.
Not only do I teach and perform barengo but I also have been putting on events and courses for over 10 years. Everything from weddings and meetings to women's groups including yogurt teacher trainings. I also have been singing Crichton sacred music from India since I was 11 years old. And knowing that I once owned and operated a naturally sweetened bakery in Santa Fe for three years.
I create instructional Bhangra DVDsfor sale on my site.
Ravi Singh lived in the Chicago ashram in 1973 and first met Yogi Bhajan in 1974. Yogi Bhajan said to him, "You're going to put Kundalini Yoga on the map. Now go teach!" Ravi moved to New York City with the intention of becoming a writer. He taught his first Kundalini Yoga classes to poets, painters, and proto-punks, in his East Village neighborhood, trendy now, but a heroin haven then.
He opened his first Kundalini Yoga Center in the early 80's and had a series of centers over the next 20 years, most of which Yogi Bhajan graced with his presence. Ravi Singh attended all of the Summer and Winter Solstice events from 1975 - 2001.
In 1976 he was blessed to be among those who helped to lay the foundation for the Gurdwara on the Ram Das Puri site in New Mexico. In 1979 Ravi Singh started Khalsa Cassettes which featured Kundalini Yoga classes on tape. That soon morphed into White Lion Press which was the vehicle for the publication of the books Kundalini Yoga for Body, Mind, & Beyond, Kundalini Yoga for Strength, Success, & Spirit, and Seven Days/Seven Rays, among others.
In 1987 Ravi Singh published his first video. Many others followed. Ravi met Ana in 2001 when she was substituting Vinyasa Yoga classes at his Center, Ravi Yoga. Within a year they were married and have been producing DVD's and teaching worldwide since. Ravi Singh is also a widely published poet. In 1989 he won the Sri Chimnoy International Spiritual Poetry Prize.
