Teaching Discipline & Self-Respect:
Effective Strategies, Anecdotes, and Lessons
for Successful Classroom Management
Sirinam S. Khalsa
Editorial Review at Amazon:
- Clear advice for new teachers struggling to develop a system and build rapport with students. Offers valuable insight into certain types of behaviors for any educator looking for a 'new way' to handle discipline problems
- Refreshingly positive. Provides tangible, doable techniques and describes respectful, sensitive approaches that can be implemented by all teachers with all students.
- Packs in lesson plans, strategies, and anecdotes from successful classroom management projects and thus is a top pick for teachers who wish to receive the applied experience of other professionals.
- Khalsa does not propose a 'one size fits all' or single system approach to classroom management, as is typical in classroom management books. Rather the focus is on a realistic classroom management approach based on the myriad of human characteristics displayed by the diverse students in today's classrooms.
- Used successfully in culturally, economically, and academically diverse classrooms, these strategies and activities focus on developing students self-esteem, self-image, and self-responsibility.

The Power Of The Spoken Word is the most wonderful gift given to human beings.
Through it, relationships are made and broken, knowledge is transmitted, and conscious is changed. When you speak,
the sound and rhythm of your words express your state of consciousness. When you repeat out loud the words

Ten Light Bodies of Consciousness:
A Guide to Self-Discovery & Self Enlightenment
Nirvair Singh Khalsa
Your presence must work. This is a quality of strengthening the seventh
(Aura) and tenth ( Radiant) Bodies.Increasing your awareness of these bodies can come by studying
and applying the knowledge of the Kundalini Yoga Ten Bodies system as taught Yogi Bhajan.
The spiritual
emphasis and the connection of the ten bodies to the Ten Sikh Gurus allows you to truly understand what it
means to be a spiritual being having a human experience. Mastering this system is invaluable for evaluating
and assessing the self and for helping others in counseling.
Yogi Bhajan once advised me that the system
is an excellent shield for counseling. You can use it in a way that helps another person, not only to
understand their own self, butalso gives them the tools and power to uplift their own self. The first
five bodies that are reviewed of this issue are the foundation for your earthly human experience. The
balance of head, heart, mind and body are so important for that internal integration of spirit.

Waves of Healing
Listening to the Voice of Your Soul
Dr. Siri Atma S Khalsa
This 240 page book reveals Dr. Siri Atma's insights on the
healing essence of Kundalini Yoga and how being true to yourself
plays a crucial role in health and healing. Chapters include: Angles and Triangles,
Authentic Healing, The Ten Bodies In-Depth, Serenity, and The Voice of the Soul.
Waves of Healing also contains new Kundalini Yoga kriyas, one for each of the Ten Bodies -
published in English for the first time and photographed in full color.
In Waves of Healing, I share the understanding of yoga, health and healing which
I gained over 30 years with my spiritual teacher Yogi Bhajan and working with my
patients and yoga students. Very little of this wisdom was communicated
verbally; it came from spiritual experiences so profound as to win over the
doubt and disbelief of my atheistic upbringing and western medical training. The
chapter titles will give you an idea of what to expect:
Excerpt from Waves of Healing by Siri Atma Khalsa, M.D.
There are three celestial bodies that influence the human body: the Earth, the
Sun and the moon. They exert their influence through their electromagnetic
fields and their tidal effects and solar winds. It is fascinating to realize
that over 5,000 years ago, mankind understood these forces well enough to
develop a sophisticated system of yoga to utilize these energies to create
maximal functioning in human beings.
The electromagnetic fields of the Earth and Sun communicate and affect our
energy levels daily. The psyche of the Earth changes during the ambrosial hours
when the magnetic strength of the day begins. You change from subtle to active
in preparation for the day's activities from 3:00 am to 6:00 am; from 6:00 am to
3:00 pm your activity continues; and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm you and every
living thing on Earth begins to slow down.
Kundalini Yoga moves energy through the body by capturing the pranic
electromagnetic force via breath techniques in which the lungs and pranic body
interact. This strengthens the electromagnetic field around us, i.e. our aura
and arcline, which creates a vibrant physical body. Auric changes affect the
mind and arcline, while arcline changes affect the soul and subtle body. These
changes also improve the way we think, communicate and perceive life, by
impacting the focus of our thoughts, or what the yogis and mystics call our
awareness.
